The 2017 General Election has heated a debate on to many politicians who are vying for the job On the Hill. Raila being very optimistics on about his bid to occupy the seat on the Hill, has been seen going around seeking and urging voters to vote him in for the Next General Election as the Next President of the Republic of Kenya. This has been seen through is remarks in all the Pro Rallies he has been having.
CORD leader Raila Odinga has urged the Kalenjin community to support him in his bid for the presidency in the 2017 General Election as there will not be a presidential candidate from the community in the next polls. But this has been seen a political strategic to Use the UhuruRuto bid to divide the Great Rift valley votes but many politic analysts have criticized the move as being a crying for help to see his bid succeed.
Speaking during a funds drive at Ndanai Catholic Church in Bomet County, Raila said that in return for his support in 2017, he would support DP Ruto in his presidential bid come 2022.“There will be no Kalenjin presidential candidate in 2017, it will only be I and Uhuru, Ruto will be vying in 2022, and when that time comes I will speak to him,” he said.
The CORD leader has expressed interest in vying for the country’s top seat in next year’s polls, while Deputy President William Ruto has confirmed that he will be supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta in next year’s General election as he awaits his turn in 2022.
On the other hand, the CORD
principals, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula, have also expressed interest
in vying for the top seat in 2017 with each having a stand believe that they
will be on the race, bringing fears of a power struggle within the opposition
