The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) Leader Raila Odinga now needs afresh voter registration exercise taken after the disbandment of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Raila said the move will help eradicate cases of ghost voters and guarantee Kenyans of a free and reasonable poll come August eighth, 2017.The CORD Leader likewise asked the Parliament Joint Select Committee on IEBC changes to quick track its work and guarantee the the electoral is disbanded.
Talking at Migori Grounds amid the homecomingceremony of Suna East MP Junet Mohammed, Raila said CORD needs a new voters register before the 2017 General Elections."We want to reform the electoral infrastructure so that we have an electoral commission in place which can be able to manage the forth coming elections," said Raila.
Speaking at the same occasion, Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama called for changes in the Constitution to take into account rotational presidency."The Constitution should have it written that no tribe will rule for more than 10 years when others have not ruled," said Muthama.During the ceremony, Migori Governor Okoth Obado, who was chosen on a PDP ticket, evacuated to ODM and proclaimed his faithfulness to the CORD coalition.
