The truth: We revisit the Pangani 6 Saga

By arresting Cord legislators, the Jubilee strategy was to provoke Cord's leadership to abandon negotiations on IEBC. Their plan has failed miserably. Think about it? What value is arresting leaders from across Kenya add to Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto in looking for votes outside of their own communities?

Arresting the Cord leaders has reduced the number of votes, if any, that Uhuru and Ruto would have legitimately gotten from the regions where the arrested Cord leaders hail from. In other words, it builds the narrative that Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto believe strongly in the power of the IEBC Commissioners than that of the electorates in re-rigging themselves back to power.

The tactics that Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto are using to cling to power such as - dishing out bands of stolen money, using excessive police force to prevent Kenyans from exercising their constitutional rights to demonstrate and now arresting opposition leaders arbitrarily without any justification whatsoever but to intimidate them into silence - are eroding any little support that the Moi boys may have gained among the 40 tribes that Uhuru Kenyatta and William have marginalized for the last 4 years of Jubilee kleptocracy.

The reality is that the outdated politics of fear and intimidation of Kenyans by Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto is silently but steadily scaring away even people from their own Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities as demonstrated by recent statements made by my friends like Wahome Thuku and Macharia Gaitho.
