    WORLD BANK: HON MARY OTARA BEST RATED IN UTILISATION OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION FUNDS




    Kisii county women representative is the best women representative in the country according to World Bank reports. World Bank, which is among the bodies alongside IMF interested in women development, has rated the Kisii county women representative the best in the country.





    The survey which was based on employment, education and positive discrimination, (which are the main aspects of affirmative action) analyzed especially the utilization of the affirmative action kitty entrusted with women representatives in all counties.



    Hon Mary otara was honored for her efforts to promote equality, correct years of discrimination to the disadvantaged groups among them women and the youth, ensure diversity among the different people and their occupations, advance people’s lives, support students from poor backgrounds, promote equality to all clans, break stereotypes, promote work and study and general inspiration to the disadvantaged groups.












    Otara who has been working on the agenda of reversing discrimination was however urged to work on the destruction of the idea of meritocracy in Kisii County, where clansim has been put as the dominant factor in employee recruitment and school admission procedures, where it is believed that the best people for certain positions should be put there, regardless of color, race or clan.

    Kisii county, is among the best counties as rated by UN committed to work on the women agenda as per the 2030 MDGs.
