I want to appreciate the fact that H.E Uhuru Kenyatta visited Gusiiland and distributed the long awaited cake of national development.
But i want to share my analysis as a keen observer of Gusii politics and what i feel about the president`s visit.
1. The president confirmed that he was more admissible in Gusiiland than his deputy William Ruto who still moves around with ODM`s/Opposition woes dating back to 2007 PEV where numerous Kisiis lost their property and lives at the expense of democracy.
2. Am sure the president noted with a lot of concern that Jubilee lacked/settled on unpopular candidates e.g. Senator Chris Obure, Joash Maangi, Jimmy Angwenyi,Stephen Manoti and others who were busy struggling with generational injustices, incompetence and corruption cases instead of popularizing the party, an issue that was intelligently addressed by the Jubilee youth who have shown a lot of commitment to party but have never been given the opportunity to drive the Jubilee agenda in the region.
3. It clicked my mind that NASA still remained the most popular coalition and H.E Governor James Ongwae and a number of NASA/Affiliate party aspirants remained unbeatable and actually were a sure bet for the Kisii County politics/ Gubernatorial seat come 8.8.2017.
JUBILEE KISII POLITICS
I want to be categorical on these Jubilee having settled on Senator Chris Obure as their Gubernatorial candidate and most of the old recycled politicians whom were largely loosing popularity and struggling to retain their seats.
I want also to be very clear, Governor James Ongwae remains the most popular candidate in Kisii County and he will still win his seat since he is acceptable to the youthful population. What you guys didn`t know the NYACHEKI BY ELECTIONS remain the litmus taste of all time where CORD won by a big margin given that it was Hon. Stephen Manoti`s and Senator Chris Obure`s backyard the proclaimed Mr. Money bags of Kisii county.
The signals were very clear that Bobasi is in opposition and no amount of caressing will change the political stand of Omoboassi to support Jubilee in Kisii.
By the numbers and regional analysis still Governor Ongwae has an upper hand since he enjoys massive support across the county courtesy of euphoria and past track record.
PARTING SHOT
Kisii County still remains a NASA zone come 8.8.2017 and we don`t expect alot of changes in numbers otherwise all i must say is that Kisii County is among the marginalized counties by national government, confirmed by H.E president Uhuru Kenyatta by confirming that the only development he had give the Gusii people was Public appointments.
