Breaking News: A 27 Years Old Kenyan Lady Mysteriously Dies In Saudi Arabia!

Before I even publish anything about this case, I confess that I hate such moments! Dealing with cases of oppression in the Middle East the past 3 years, there is nothing I have not witnessed. Every day as you wish "all will be well", another case pops up. This is the 2nd case am dealing with this week. Back to the main story.

It's 2.20 a.m my time and I have just received the sad news that the Kenyan lady by the name of Irene Muthoni Gitonga pictured below, 27 years of age, has died in Saudi Arabia. She hails from Daiga Timau Farmers in Nanyuki.

The lady who sent me the message pleading for help is her neighbor back home in Kenya. Irene's father is called Mr. Gitonga AJ. The message I received read quote and quote "Nelson, please help us bring Muthoni back home."

    The Mystery Of Her Death

Irene's parents received a phone call from her employer saying that their daughter was dead and the cause of her demise was a "road accident." Pause: I immediately saw a red traffic light!! This is the most common narrative of most of our Kenyan domestic workers who are oppressed and murdered in the Middle East. Road accident? The details given to Muthoni's family were extremely vague, something needs to be done to get to the bottom of this. Her family not only needs clarity of what happened, but they want their daughter's remains transported back home and appealing to any Kenyans in Saudi to go and see her body and confirm that this was truly a road accident. Below is the Saudi Hospital Number they have: +96659425221. I don't have the hospital name as I type this article.

    Cause Of Action

Having dealt with these cases on a regular, I appeal to the following government offices to intervene in this case with immediate effect:

1: The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs led by Hon Washington Oloo and his team. A meeting needs to be set up with Irene's parents right away to start processing the necessary documents.

2: The Kenyan Embassy in Riyadh needs to intervene without any hesitation. The hospital number is in the article, call and send anyone from your office to follow up on this case then get in touch with her Father Mr. Gitonga. His phone number is +254721324446.

3: Any Kenyans in Saudi Arabia who have the freedom to move around, kindly be your brothers/sisters keeper. This is not the time to ask questions but take actions. If there is any Kenyan who can visit the hospital to confirm the validity of the information relayed to her parents, please do. Send the feedback to me or contact her father Mr Gitonga AJ. His number is +254721324446.
