Two suspected to be 40 Brothers arrested in Kisumu

Police have captured two associates accepted to be individuals with the 40 Brothers' posse in Kisumu town.

The suspects were captured on Thursday by Administration Police fast reaction group leader Superintendent Karanja Muiruri.

Police recuperated an AK-47 rifle amid the attack at Kasawino, Nyamasaria, on the Kisumu-Nairobi street.

The two were escorted under tight security to Kisumu focal police headquarters for further addressing.

The pack accepted to be working from a base in Nyamasaria has been threatening inhabitants of Manyatta, Nyalenda, Mamboleo and Carwash.

Right hand Inspector General of Police Joseph Keitany said the suspects were captured taking after a tip off from individuals from the general population.

He said the suspects, accepted to be in-your-face culprits, were distinguished by their casualties.

Keitany said different suspects are being distinguished as police increase the crackdown on the posse.

"It is empowering that people in general distinguished the suspects and we are still on with our operations to verify Kisumu is secured from criminal exercises," he said.

The capture takes after occupants' interest for brisk activity from the national and area governments to enhance security.

Seven associated individuals with the posse were captured a month ago by QRT officers.

Kisumu East subcounty chief Moses ole Tutui on September 23 said the suspects were captured amid a police swoop.

Occupants and specialists adulated the QRT for capturing the suspects.
