Friday, 12 August 2016 tears engulfed the St. Mary's Nyamagwa Girls High School after their bus with several students and teachers on board was involved in a grisly accident at Kiongogi, Sameta Sub County, Kisii County. The bus was new and it is said to have arrived at the school yesterday night and this was the first trip the students were having with it.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that at least 12 students have been confirmed dead and several injured. The injured have been rushed to Kisii referral Hospital where they are being attended by the doctors. The doctors are urging anybody who is in Kisii Town and it's environs to turn up at the hospital and donate blood to help the casualties.
It is rumoured that the driver of the Bus was a teacher. Which has raised questions on inexperienced driving to the cause of the unfortunate ordeal. It is at the same locality a bus carrying Rioma Secondary Students rolled several times sometimes back killing at least 40 students.
