It takes a lot of courage to sit at the ICU looking at a child that you know nothing about his senses. Whether he is breathing, seeing, hearing, smelling or doing anything.
Baby Wayne was riding a bicycle happily just like any other child until the happiness turned sadness when he got an accident and suffered a severe traumatic head injury.
His mother rushed him to hospital expecting a quick medical attention after which he will go back home and recover there. Unfortunately Baby wayne was admitted to ICU where he has been for weeks until days ago when he was transferred to the HDU.
His mother has been there living with hope and faith that her son will wake up some day and smile like he does in the picture below. A mother spending days and nights on a child who is not reacting back to you in any way is not a joke. It’s true courage. Friends have been there every evening and all they could do is move to the nearest church and conduct a prayer service every evening.
The bible tells us that our Lord is always listening to our prayers and indeed answers them as we pray. We thank him for the far he has brought the son from. Unfortunately the bills have been on the rise day in day out due to the head surgery, doctoral bills and other bills at the hospital which have amounted to Ksh. 5,000,000. This is a scary amount to one person. But to all of us it’s manageable. God blesses other people through us and solves people’s problems through other people.
As I write this article, am also burdened by rent, school fees, daily bills, personal requirements, medical bills, electricity bills, water bills, transport and I feel I need more personal items for myself and my house. But I know it will not hurt me to spare some Ksh. 2,000 and send to this paybill number 831083, account- wayne
