I want to take this early opportunity to congratulate the Able Prof David Maraga on his nomination to such a high office as Chief Justice of the Republic of Kenya.
As a resident of Nyamira county and a leader in the students fraternity I pride in you and your strong faith in God and in doing that which is right.
I have worked with the judiciary before and my experience informs me that there's indeed more work to be done than it meets the eye in terms of cleansing the system.
As the students fraternity we have very high expectations in you and in your new office.
We have suffered in a corrupt judiciary for long with our student’s cases taking long to be heard and suffering political and “big force” influence from our oppressors.
Our universities have become dens of corruption and mismanagement breeding tribalism and favoritism . Students are surviving in universities at the mercy of greedy and “don't care” managers who decide whether to expel you yesterday or today.
Our only hope has been in the Judiciary where we have numerous cases pending either unheard or postponed due to the influence of “God fathers.”
My plea comes early even before your appointment because this office you are heading to is one with a high voltage of responsibility where people from all levels of poverty and wealth look up to you.
Congratulations once more.
